We treat our patients like they were our own children. From the first baby teeth to the very last molar, we love to watch them grow. We welcome each family and are always available anytime we’re needed. Upbeat, engaging and fun, our staff is trained in special techniques designed to put children at ease. Because we believe every child should experience and enjoy great dentistry right from the very start.

Dr. amy pfaffenbach, dds

From Big Dig to Little Mouths.  Dr. Amy grew up in the Capital District. Her father is an orthodontist, but she herself didn’t always want to go into dentistry. Instead, she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Union College. While there, she was inducted into several national honors societies— Tau Beta Pi, Chi Epsilon and Sigma Xi. She also received the Ethel Kirchenbaum Award, which went to the student who showed the most promise in his or her field. After graduating, Amy worked on the "Big Dig" in Boston—the most expensive highway project ever undertaken in the U.S. And although she loved engineering, she didn’t love sitting behind a computer all day. Amy had a real love for children and an interest in dentistry that was inspired by her father at a very young age. After much consideration, she decided pediatric dentistry would be the perfect fit. And it was. At the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, Amy was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society; received the Organization of Teachers of Oral Diagnosis Award; and published two research papers. She graduated cum laude in 1999 with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

No Place Like Home. Amy returned to her hometown of Schenectady to complete her two-year general practice residency and serve as chief resident at St. Clare's Hospital. In 2003, she received her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from The Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo, where she completed research for two published papers. Dr. Amy currently has staff privileges at Ellis Hospital, where she serves as a staff pediatric dentist and instructor for the residents. She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association. Dr. Amy lives with her husband, Dr. George Habeeb, D.D.S., and their son, George, in Clifton Park. In her free time, she enjoys gourmet cooking, skiing and hiking.

FUN FACT: Before she was a dentist, Dr. Amy was an engineer.

Katie Gallogly, Registered Dental Hygienist

She Loves Kids and It Shows. Katie joined Dr. Amy's team in 2008 with a degree in Dental Hygiene from Hudson Valley Community College. She’s always been passionate about working with children and strives to make them feel happy and comfortable when they come to the dentist—something she readily achieves with her calm and soothing personality. A proud mom of five kids—daughter Madison and sons Howie, Henry, Hudson and Harrison—Katie lives in Selkirk, New York, with her family. When she’s not caring for her kids, at the office or at home, she loves spending time catching up with close friends and family.

FUN FACT: Katie is part mom, part superwoman with five kids, a career and a super-hectic schedule.

Dee Nolin, Registered Dental Hygienist

The Team Spirit. Dee didn’t join our team until 2014, but she’s known Dr. Amy much longer; they met in 2000 when they worked together at Ellis Hospital. Since joining our team, she’s been a constant source of energy and enthusiasm—our own personal cheerleader and motivator. A native of Saranac Lake, New York, Dee received her degree in Dental Hygiene from Hudson Valley Community College in 1995. She’s been happily married to her husband, Craig, for 16 years. Their two sons keep both parents busy cheering on the sidelines of their many sports and activities.

Fun Fact: In 2006, Dee’s favorite country music artist, Keith Urban, brought her on stage during his concert for a hug and picture.

Smiles, Snakes and Sea Creatures—Oh, My! Helen joined our team in 2007 and found that she loves working with Dr. Amy, who she admires her for her compassion and patience. She also loves teaching kids of all ages that going to the dentist can be a fun and positive experience. When she sees the enthusiastic smiles on the children who walk through our doors, she just melts. Away from the office, Helen’s grounding force is her husband, who is constantly making her laugh. Meanwhile, her daughter—her inspiration and motivation—keeps her busy with a full schedule of sports, pointe ballet and community service. Helen’s whole family loves animals and it shows—their many pets include a dog, cat, gecko, and several snakes! Helen also loves to go horseback riding, kayaking, hiking, sand boarding, traveling and finding new adventures to experience. During her most recent adventure, she and her family went snorkeling and swam with wild sharks, seals, sea lions and other ocean creatures!

FUN FACT: A former gymnast, Helen can still do backbends and cartwheels!

allie berthiaume, dental assistant

A Girl on the Go with High AspirationsAllie joined the team in 2011. Although she usually works down the hall with Dr. Habeeb—Dr. Amy's husband—she has plenty of interaction with our patients. She just loves when they walk past her desk or stop to chat. Allie grew up in Waterford and attended the Adirondack Dental Assisting School. Now she lives in Mechanicville with her son, Jameson. The two are always on the go, whether it's visiting family in New York City, or day trips to the Syracuse Zoo or Mystic, Connecticut.  An outdoor girl to the core, Allie loves to hike in the Adirondacks, kayak, fish and camp. In fact, she recently started working on becoming an ADK 46-R—a non-profit organization whose members have climbed all of the 46 major peaks of New York’s Adirondack Mountains. Back at the office, Allie loves to keep busy, and we love her help. So don’t be surprised if she answers our phone or fills in at the front desk. She may technically work with Dr. Habeeb, but we think of her as part of our team, too.

FUN FACT: Allie may love designer handbags, but on the weekends she hops on a Harley to explore the great outdoors.
